2016 Annual Report
2016 was a great year for Y.O.U. , and we’re celebrating our 35th anniversary. Last year 4,679 youth were helped with jobs, internships and other services.
Summer of Success: 2,577 employees at 532 sites!
Although the school year is in full swing, we would like to take a moment to look back on our summer employment successes!
'Road to NYC': E CITY Winner Prepares for NFTE Competition
This past May, Kyndra Collins earned the title of E CITY Young Entrepreneur of the Year and will compete in the NFTE 2016 Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge. Kyndra is CEO of Motion, selling all-natural body wash with 24-hour moisturizing capabilities.
Career Coaches Receive JAG Honors
Youth Opportunities Unlimited is very proud to announce that two of its JOG Career Coaches were recognized at the July 2016 Jobs for America's National Training Seminar, our national affiliate.
2016 E CITY finalists present to crowd at Ernst & Young
On May 16, 2016 E CITY students from seven local schools in Cleveland, East Cleveland, and Painesville, competed for title of Y.O.U.'s E CITY Young Entrepreneur of the Year at Ernst & Young. Throughout the day, students showcased their business ideas with PowerPoint presentations and product demonstrations, and answered tough questions from the judges.
#ALLin216: Cavs victory celebrated at Austin Carr Golf Invitational!
'Mr. Cavalier' and Y.O.U. Lifetime Board Member Austin Carr was unable to be present at the tee off of the Sixth Annual Austin Carr Celebrity Golf Invitational but he had a pretty good excuse. He was flying back with the World Champion Cavs team!
2,700 Teens Hit The Pavement and Go to their Summer Job
On Monday, approximately 2,700 youth headed to work for the summer. Youth Opportunities Unlimited (Y.O.U.) matches teens and young adults, 14-24 throughout Cuyahoga County, to meaningful summer jobs in the private, nonprofit and public sectors.

A successful Youth Career Olympics event!
On April 28th, 150 students from Youth Opportunity Unlimited’s (Y.O.U.’s) in-school and after-school programs participated in our annual Youth Career Olympics. outh Career Olympics is a 10-event competition that showcases our students job-readiness and job-seeking skills in an exciting competitive environment.
In Memorium of our Founder, the Honorable George V. Voinovich
Youth Opportunities Unlimited joins thousands in Cleveland, Columbus and around the world in mourning the passing of our Founder, the Honorable George V. Voinovich. His passion for public service and belief that “together we can do it” was the foundation of many Public/Private Partnerships that helped Cleveland come back and thrive.
6TH ANNUAL AUSTIN CARR CELEBRITY GOLF INVITATIONAL
Each golfer will receive breakfast, lunch, post-golf buffet, tee favors, and an opportunity to meet the Y.O.U. students. Winning teams will receive great prizes and everyone will get the chance to bid on unique silent auction items. All proceeds will benefit Youth Opportunities Unlimited, Northeast Ohio’s largest youth workforce development nonprofit organization.
E CITY YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR COMPETITION
E CITY (Entrepreneurship: Connecting, Inspiring, and Teaching Youth) introduces teens to the process of starting a real business by helping them turn their ideas into business plans with the help of staff and volunteer coaches.
2016 YOUTH CAREER OLYMPICS
An inspiring day where our students showcase the workforce skills they've developed in competitive, team-based competitions.
