A) I will be handling recruiting, training, and facilitation of volunteer activities for programs here at the organization.

Q)     You were a volunteer with us before you joined our staff. Can you describe what that experience was like for you?

A) My volunteer experience was phenomenal. Whether it was judging at the E CITY regional competition, participating in YCO, or classroom visits for resume writing and mock interviews each experience was unique and memorable.

Q)     You’re entering the nonprofit world with years of corporate experience. How do you think your time at Starbucks will help you in your new role?

A) First and foremost, would be my emphasis on delivering a world class “customer service” experience. The students, donors, and volunteers are our customers and it is my goal for them to have a positive, fulfilling, and substantive interactions with the organization. If we ever fall short of that goal, I will take the time to listen to them and take their feedback and put it into action.

A) The desire to make my passion for helping youth my profession.

Q)     What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

A) Seeing the students and young adults we serve use what they are given and make a positive impact in their communities.

Q)     What do you want the public to know about volunteerism, and specifically, what that experience means at Youth Opportunities Unlimited?

A) Volunteerism is a two-way street. By taking the time to help others you create ripples of positive energy that fluctuate throughout the community! That positive energy energizes you and leaves a lasting legacy for others to model.
