Record-Breaking Success at the 16th Annual Austin Carr Celebrity Golf Invitational
On Monday, July 20, Youth Opportunities Unlimited hosted the 16th Annual Austin Carr Celebrity Golf Invitational at Quail Hollow Country Club. Nearly 250 sponsors, golfers, celebrities, community partners, youth participants, and staff came together for a memorable day in support of Y.O.U.'s mission to prepare Northeast Ohio's young people for successful futures. The day began with "Mr. Cavalier Live," presented by Medical Mutual, featuring an engaging conversation with Austin Carr hosted by sports broadcaster Cayleigh Griffin. Guests enjoyed hearing Austin reflect on his legendary basketball career, his years as a broadcaster, and the importance of investing in the next generation. With beautiful summer weather throughout the day, golfers enjoyed a fantastic afternoon on the course while connecting with fellow supporters of Y.O.U. Several of our youth participants joined the event, giving them the opportunity to network with business and community leaders, share their experiences, and witness firsthand the incredible community that believes in their success. In addition to a day of golf, guests participated in putting contests, raffles, and silent auction opportunities, all made possible through the generosity of our donors and local business partners.
The event concluded with the Post-Tournament Celebration, sponsored by Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith where golfers gathered for dinner, awards, and an opportunity to celebrate another successful year of supporting Cleveland's future workforce. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors, participants, volunteers, and supporters, this year's outing raised a record-breaking $118,000—the most in the event's history. Proceeds from the event will help advance Y.O.U.'s mission by supporting career exploration, paid work experiences, mentorship, and workforce development opportunities for young people across Northeast Ohio.
