Summer Career Academies at Y.O.U.
What is an academy?
Summer Career Academies provide hands-on working and learning experiences to participants interested in careers in industries that are in demand.
Some industries that academies focus on include Construction, Manufacturing, Financial Education, Marketing, and more.
Summer Career Academies are specialized experiences within Y.O.U.’s summer youth employment program with more in-depth screening.
Is an academy a paid opportunity?
Yes, participants in academies earn $13.50 per hour.
Who can participate in an academy?
Most academies are open to:
Rising Juniors
Rising Seniors
Graduates of the class of 2026

How can I apply for an academy?
There are two steps:
Step One: Submit an SYEP Application
Submit the Academy Interest Form
Note: If your application meets basic eligibility criteria, you will be contacted for an interview.
