Employer Terms & Conditions

If this employer is selected to participate in one of the 2021 Y.O.U. Work Experience Program(s), this employer will be required to abide by the following terms and conditions:

1. The employer agrees to provide experienced supervision with a ratio of at least one (1) supervisor to every ten (10) youth/young adults.

2. The employer agrees to provide a safe and healthy work environment free from all forms of harassment.

3. The employer agrees to provide an Orientation to the worksite that details worksite expectations and policies.

4. The employer agrees to comply with all COVID-19 Guidelines for Employers per the Center for Disease Control.

5. The employer agrees to comply with Y.O.U.’s Pandemic Health Policy Agreement as attached or incorporated by reference.

6. The employer agrees to abide by all Federal, State, and Local labor laws and civil rights provisions, as well as regulations established by the Ohio Department of Human Services. If complaints are filed, it may result in youth being reassigned from your work site.

7. The employer agrees to provide sufficient work assignments that will occupy the participants' working time and the employer will provide sufficient equipment and materials to carry out assignments.

8. The employer agrees to evaluate participants on their progress and performance at least twice during the Y.O.U. work experience (beginning and end).

9. The employer will ensure that participants will NOT be placed in positions currently affected by hiring freezes, lay-offs, and/or labor disputes.

10. The employer agrees to review and authorize time and attendance records via Y.O.U.’s electronic platform, which is currently Dayforce HCM.

11. The employer will ensure that participants will not be paid for absences, unknown hours, and recreational activities.

12. The employer acknowledges and agrees that participants are not authorized to work more than the allotted number of hours per pay period and are not ever allowed to work more than 40 hours in one week. The number of allowable hours per pay period will be reviewed during the worksite supervisor trainings. Furthermore, the employer agrees and acknowledges that allowing participant(s) to work overtime hours will result in the employer being suspended from participating in the Y.O.U. employment program.

13. The employer agrees that the following work assignments are prohibited: sectarian instruction, religious worship, and political activity.

14. The employer agrees to grant reasonable access for Youth Opportunities Unlimited ("Y.O.U.") to access all applicable records.

15. The employer agrees to facilitate the monitoring of visits by Y.O.U. staff and/or their agents.

16. The employer agrees to ensure that the appropriate Y.O.U. staff are notified of the working schedule and locations and will ensure the timely communication of changes during the program.

17. The employer understands that enrolling as a Y.O.U. Employer Partner does not guarantee youth placement at the employer worksite.

18. The employer agrees to provide employment verification to Y.O.U. for any Y.O.U. work experience participants that are hired by the employer during or after the subsidized work experience for up to a year after the participant is hired.
